Our priority
The $25,000 Foundational Startup Capital Campaign
A new foundation has one hard requirement before any of its promises mean anything: capital. This campaign is how The Rodski Legacy Foundation goes from an idea in Mobile to programming with young people in the room.

The campaign
Foundational Startup Capital Campaign
Launch and operate the foundation’s youth programming in Mobile — mentoring, tutoring, media education, workforce readiness and enrichment for the young people who need them.

Campaign goal
$25,000
Founding capital is what moves each of these areas from a plan into a room with young people in it. The foundation publishes its campaign figures once its ledgers are reconciled, so the numbers it shows are always ones it can stand behind.
- Seed the foundation’s first youth programming in Mobile
- Fund mentor recruitment, screening and training
- Equip the Broadcast University studio and classroom materials
- Support tutoring, transportation and participation costs for families who need them
Register with the foundation
Registration is how you join this campaign. Add your name and the foundation will keep you close to the work — the first programs, the first classrooms, the first young people through the door.
What registration asks for
- First and last name, and your email address
- Your phone number, if you would like a call
- Your current address
- A short note about yourself and how you want to help
Your details go to the foundation and nowhere else. Nothing is sold or shared.
Want to talk to a person first, about mentoring, a partnership or a sponsorship? Use the contact form and the foundation will arrange it with you.
What the $25,000 actually pays for
Founding capital is not overhead in a vague sense. It is the specific, unglamorous groundwork that every one of the foundation’s program areas depends on.
01
Launch the programs
The first year of mentoring, tutoring, media education, workforce readiness and enrichment — staffed, scheduled and running with young people in the room.
02
Recruit and train the adults
Mentors and volunteers do not appear by accident. Funding covers recruiting, background screening and training, so every young person is paired with someone safe and prepared.
03
Equip the room and the studio
Broadcast University needs real equipment. Tutoring needs materials. Enrichment needs space. This is the physical groundwork of every program area.
04
Remove the barriers
Transportation, participation costs and the small expenses that quietly keep a family out. Removing them is how a program reaches the young people who need it most.
Ways to help
Register on the site
Add your name to the foundation’s register and you start hearing from us directly — the campaign, the programs, and how the first year unfolds. It takes a minute.
Tell us what you can offer
In your registration, write a line about what you would bring — a trade, a classroom, a church hall, a van, an hour a month. That is how most of this work gets organized.
Sponsor a program area
A business, church or family can underwrite a specific area — broadcast education, tutoring, transportation — and be recognized as its founding sponsor. Contact the foundation and it will be arranged with you directly.
Match through your employer
Many employers run matching and volunteer-grant programs. It costs you nothing extra and can double what your time does for Mobile’s young people. The foundation will walk you through the paperwork.
Businesses, churches and community organizations
If you would like to discuss a sponsorship, an in-kind contribution or a partnership, the foundation would rather talk with you than have you guess at a form.
Talk to the foundationA note to our first supporters
Thank you for believing in a foundation in its first year.
Standing with something new asks for a certain kind of faith. Every person who registers — whether they can give an hour or an afternoon — becomes part of the founding story of an organization that did not exist before 2026, and that will exist for Mobile’s young people long after all of us are done with it.
Building Potential. Creating Opportunity. Leaving a Legacy.
